Successful second year of Tampa Connection’s Philanthropy Engagement Day

On Tuesday, May 8, the 2017/2018 Tampa Connection class engaged with local nonprofits for our second annual Philanthropy Engagement program. This was the final program for this year’s class prior to graduating from Tampa Connection. The program highlights Tampa Connection’s mission: to prepare our class members to become active volunteers and leaders in the Tampa Bay community.

Cory Neil, the Market President of Hillsborough County for The Bank of Tampa and an accomplished Tampa Connection alumnus, spoke to the class about being intentional about selecting the nonprofits they will select to serve throughout their careers in Tampa. Mr. Neil encouraged the class members to pick a nonprofit or a purpose they are passionate about and one that “lights their fire.”

The class then had an opportunity to engage in a leadership exercise lead by Clint Babcock of Sandler Training. This training involved the class breaking into small groups and brainstorming on key attributes of leadership. The class members thoroughly enjoyed the presentation Clint provided to our group!
