Third times a charm for Tampa Connection’s Philanthropy Engagement Day!
On Tuesday, May 7th the 2018-19 the Tampa Connection class engaged with local nonprofits for our third annual Philanthropy Engagement program. Since this program was inducted in 2016, it has quickly become a favorite for local nonprofits and the class alike. This final program for the class prior to graduating from Tampa Connection included a ‘Speed Networking” session with fourteen local nonprofits. The goal of the Philanthropy Engagement program is to further establish our mission, “To prepare our class members to become active volunteers and leaders in the Tampa Bay community.”
After our exciting, engaging, and cowbell-filled speed networking session with Tampa Bay nonprofits, the class had their final leadership session and exercise lead by Darryl Ross and Eric Kidwell with Smart CX. This training was the culmination of a yearlong leadership and development program which was offered to the class for the first time this year. The final session addressed setting leadership expectations, public speaking, communication and leadership challenges in nonprofits organizations.
Afterwards we celebrated a successful program with a happy hour for the class, leadership trainers, and our guest nonprofit organizations. We also had representation from the Community Connections committee from the Alumni Committee present to discuss volunteer opportunities and alumni opportunities with the class following their class year. Many cheers to a successful partnership with our 2018-19 Class and all the local organizations in attendance!
