The Tampa Connection Class of 2018-19 met at the Bryan Glazer Family JCC for the Purpose & Projects program day.
The mission statement for the program was: To prepare class members for their non-profit project by educating them on the specific agency information and how each member can personally contribute to the success of their project.

The “Mother of Tampa Connection,” Betty Tribble, began the day with a brief history of the organization and why it’s dear to her heart. Her message to the class was to embrace the organization while stressing the importance of making impactful relationships – not just with members of your team, but the entire class.
After Board Members and program leads, Adriana Williams and Eric Cruz provided an overview of the day, they introduced each of the five non-profit agencies that we will be working with this year. We’re excited to be working with:
- OnBikes – Blue Team
- Starting Right, Now – Green Team
- Exalted Warrior – Red Team
- Meals on Wheels – Purple Team
- Stay in Step Recovery – Orange Team
For an even more impactful day, each team then met with their non-profit representatives for an introduction to their individual projects and began the collaboration process. These were highly interactive sessions encouraging team members to ask questions and formulate ideas on what their next steps should be.
The Red Team even found their center by beginning their session with some relaxation exercises directed by the Exalted Warrior representatives!
The program day ended with a well-attended and lively social hour including hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and a Tampa 101 program day teaser. We look forward to seeing the class at Tampa 101.
Let the project planning commence!
