On Tuesday, December 6, 2016, the Tampa Connection Class rolled up their sleeves to help Metropolitan Ministries in their Holiday Tent. Our class helped transition the Holiday Tent from Thanksgiving to Christmas in order to prepare for the 18,000 families that Metropolitan Ministries will be helping this holiday season.
While many of us experience joy at this special time of year, the holidays are hard on families suffering in homelessness and poverty. The Metropolitan Ministries Holiday Tent will provide food, toys, and holiday cheer to families in need during the holiday season.
Class members helped to sort food, stocked the pantry shelves, packed meal boxes, painted guest areas, received donations, decorated guest areas, and even assembled a giant Christmas Tree! It was a festive, hands-on-service opportunity for our 2017 class.
